UPS Maintenance Notification Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008 11:30am

UPS System Maintenance Operations

During regularly scheduled Preventive Maintenance, our UPS maintenance vendor has identified a few issues we need to correct.  Naturally we want to have these components replaced as soon as possible in order to maintain maximum reliability and performance of this system.  Rest assured that this system is still online and functioning in its present condition.  In order to perform these replacements the UPS system will need to be placed in by-pass mode for a short period of time per unit. There should be no effect on delivery of power to your equipment.  Please see times and floor that will be affected by this work below.

WHEN:                        Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008
Start time: 11:30am
Duration: 6 hours
Affected Floor: 14th Floor

UPS SYSTEM:            500 KVA Leibert servicing the 14th Floor IDC

IMPACT:                     While repairs are made the UPS Systems will be offline.

In the unlikely event that we should experience an unexpected disruption of service by PG&E during this repair operation, we will cease the repairs and restore the UPS System as quickly as possible in order to reduce risk and power disruption.

If you should have any further questions or comments regarding this procedure, please feel free to open a support ticket.

Generator Minor Preventive Maintenance 2/15/2008 1:30pm pacific - 3:30pm pacific

Minor Preventive Maintenance of all generators is performed to insure the reliability and dependability of the generators in the event that utility power is disrupted or compromised.  This will be a Level 1 inspection so utility will not be off line for this maintenance.

WHEN:                        Friday, February 15, 2008
Start Time: 1:30 pm
2 hour duration

GENERATOR:            1500 KW Caterpillar

IMPACT:                     The primary PG&E utility power that normally feeds these systems will not be interrupted or affected by the testing, therefore there is no anticipated impact on individual tenant operations.

In the unlikely event that we should experience an unexpected disruption of service by PG&E, we will cease the testing and restore the generator back-up service as quickly as possible in order to bring back-up power to the effected systems.  Please note that while we will make every effort will be made to assure no interruption of service to your operations or support equipment, service disruptions caused by PG&E are beyond our control.

Network Maintenance 01/02/2007

At 8pm pacific standard time, we will be performing an IOS upgrade on several border routers. Routes will be withdrawn before the change. You may notice a brief interruption as routes reconverge however impact should be minimal.

Please open a support ticket if you notice any unusual behavior. The change is estimated to take 5 minutes.

Update: Maintenance started at 8pm and is continueing serially until routers are upgraded. We expect all maintenance to be completed by 9:30pm pacific time. At this time, all major routers have been upgraded. There was minimal interruption of 10-20 ping packets lost on each router during upgrades as alternatives routes were found. However, the interruption was large enough to disconnect/reconnect active sessions.
